In order to implement the national strategy of national fitness and enrich the spiritual and cultural life of faculty and staff, the Guangzhou University Union organized the "Second Guangzhou University Faculty Poker Egg Team Competition" on June 1, 2024.
Qingdan is a poker game that originated in Huai'an, Jiangsu Province in the mid-20th century. It is popular among the masses for its intelligence, fitness, fun, and versatility. Since the beginning of this century, egg laying has gradually become standardized and unified in the development and popularity of various regions, becoming a sports event that uses playing cards as equipment and involves four people pairing up for intellectual confrontation. After the college training competition, it was decided to form a participating team led by Dean Wu Zhifeng, coached by Professor Cui Haishan, and with several teachers including Liu Lin, Wen Debao, Bai He Yunfei, Luo Renbo, Qu Yifu, Lin Yongyong, and Su Chuping as contestants.
The atmosphere at the school poker team competition was very lively. Our school's participants, with superb card skills, tacit cooperation, and stable psychological qualities, entered the top eight after fierce competition in the first stage group single round robin and second stage elimination rounds, and ultimately achieved a good result of seventh place in the whole school. This competition not only meets the diverse needs of fitness for faculty and staff, but also advocates a new way of healthy and civilized living.
